Unhappy Engine problem tonight, cut out.

Well it's going again but heres what happened. I was leaving work, not too cold out tonight as it has been. It started to have a couple of what I can describe as jolts, maybe mis-fires?, then it just cut out, lost all power. I coasted into a luckily placed parking spot and switched the ignition off. When I tried to re-start it as vibrating like mad but the engine wouldn't start.

So first thing I do is pull out the caterman box. It's the only thing I have, and if it's towed then I dont want that in there for vaux warranty to see.

So I do that, get it and try to start again, starts, no problem. Decide to chance it and drive home 35 miles with no incident at all, feels smooth and good as always.

So I dont know what the problem is, there is a fault stored in the computer so I'll take it in on Monday to get them to see what it was.

Could it be down to the tuning box gone bad? I might put it back in tomorrow to see.

    Any other ideas?

Excess common rail pressure is where my money is! I've tried pumping the rail pressure up on the remap to some pretty high levels and it starts to throw a fit at between 1900 and 2000 bar. Just says no and stops, strange as I know the pump can do more when I slap on the box over the remap. Anyway, it is not unusual for the box to need adjusting for different weather conditions, if your's does not have adjustment then you might not be able to use it again until it warms up again.
