    Default Noisy pulley/water pump

On my 55 plate sri cdti 30,000 miles on the clock. The noise is coming from the side of the engine with the belts on. It's more audible when the car is started form cold. Has anyone had any problems like this? Am i panicing over nothing or should i pop into dealership with it and let them be the judge?

Use the warranty mate. May be alternator pulley or such other expensive item. Then again, could simply need a new belt on.

I had a similar problem and ultimately it needed a new tensioner and alternator pulley. The pulley isn't cheap so if you can get it under warranty, definitely.

Problem solved. It was a dry belt it was solved by using a magic spray (wd40). It's caused by all the crap of the road drying the belt out aparently.

It'll just start again mate, better off fitting a new belt tbh

I know and trust the mechanic who dealt with the problem and he told me not to worry about it. His words good enough for me
