    Default Traction Control & ESP

Dense question..... but do you only get TC with ESP ? All my Veccys have had it as standard so far but it seems the new C's dont have bog standard TC and I have to ask for ESP... ( he he ESP - you need it now a days with some drivers ) ... to be fitted as an option..... ?

Nope, only standard on V6 models now. ESP/TC is a £400 option on all other engines.

    TC comes with ESP now.

You used to get TC as standard on most models until the change to facelift.

MMmm - not sure I follow the logic of Vauxhall bar £ related terms. I've found TC to be handy in many a case when in wet weather and pulling out of a junction etc etc.... ESP I can follow too.... I just cant see why they took it out of the standard line up.

I assume my pre f/l CDTi 150 SRi has TC but it's about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Does it monitor all four wheels or just the any speed difference between the front wheels?

Think it measures the rear wheels and then if the front wheels are spinning at the same speed, if they are spinning faster it applies the brakes - terribly though!!!

It is useless in preventing understeer though - sorry to say it but Clarkson was right - chassis is terrible but I wouldn't swap the car though for anything else though!!!

The TC doesn't brake, it just cuts power to the fronts if it detects a miss-match between front and rear wheels. If you have TC the little triangle with a skidding car will come up on the dash when the wheels spin.
