    Default WTF?????

Came out this morning jumped in the car and tried to drive off the driveway. Well all I heard was a scrapping niose and I thought that it was a "sticky" brake so I drove slowely for a hundred yards or so and it showed no signs of 2freeing2 its self. So stopped the motor, took a look and found that the offside front suspension was down onto the top of the tyre. Any how phoned my local VX garage and they said that 1. they had no way of getting it to thier garage - fair enough. and 2. when I asked if it was under warenty they said (cars only turned two years old) we will have to see what the cause/problem is. I said I think it is the spring that has broken and again they said they would advise if it under warrenty. I thought that suspesion parts was under warrenty??

By the way the car drove back to the house ok last night. must of let go during the night? any body else had this problem?

If your motor has just turned 2 year's it should be covered under warranty. But it is an odd one hope you get it sorted mate

It is, I think they try and keep themselves covered. That should be fixable though under warranty though, if wiper linkages are!!

Sounds like the cold weather has weakened a stress fracture in your suspension spring causing it to snap.

Make sure they're aware of the seriousness of faulty springs during manufacture and what would of happened if this spring had broke whilst you were driving with your family.

If it's not covered by warranty I'd be very surprised, and if they try to charge you ask to speak to Vx customer Services because a spring isn't supposed to just break like that.

Indeed it should have been WTF, we all make mistakes, especially as I was cracking up earlier at the attitude of the garage and tow truck (another story)

Ah it's not so bad, the spring in my girlfriends smart broke while we were doing 60, nasty noise and looked like it had been seriously lowered (one one corner!) but we survived to tell the tale

Not sure if VX view springs as consumables, if they do then they won't be covered at 2 years.

Get it in to Vx and take no cr@p from them either. Car's under 3 years old and the spring has broken, 'nuff said. The shock absorbers are a different matter but the springs are covered

Edited the title for you as well m8

Sorry m8, wasn't being picky or anything, but wasn't sure if it stood for something else...and I didn't want to sound too thick if it did..
