    Default Vegetable Oil

Ive read a few websites on the internet when i was looking at bio-diesel that say you can run your car on vegetable oil. I already knew this but i was a bit sceptical about it. Now i have seen that if you mix it with a white spirit or some other solvent then it works fine!
I was just wondering if anybody has any additional information (Other than taxing) and if anybody has tried it in their vec?

you 'can' do it in DTi vehicles, but NOT in CDTi vehicles...mix it with normal pump diesel at around 80%derv, 20% oil....no more..

You 'can' make your own diesel, but there's a bit more to it than adding white spirit...

I wouldnt get involved with it on my DTi, Nutron used to run his old DTi on the stuff, and it f*cked the fuel pump if i remember rightly, And they aint cheap to replace..

What you save in one hand, you pay out on the other!

I used commercially produced 100% biodiesel on my DTi for over 20k, no bother at all. Wouldn't trust anything other than 5% bio in the CDTi though.

As Top Gear found out when they went endurance racing with a BMW 330d it goosed all the fuel seals and they had to replace the fuel pump.

Loads of good info on the sites listed above though.
