Thumbs down My Less Than Brilliant Dealer

Some of the guy's on here will know that my car has been in vx for the last 3 days as they attempt to sort the scraping problem I have on my car.

To cut a very long story short, a field engineer had been out before and told my stealer that there was a fault and to use some 'sonic ears' to try and diagnose where the noise was coming from.

So the car was booked in for this monday gone, for collection on wednesday (today) in which time I would be given a courtesy car.

Dropped the car off monday, and they told me they would be in touch on weds when the car is ready, which was critical as the tax on the loan car runs out at midnight on said day.

I gave them till 16:15 to get in touch, but ended up phoning them, where I was told my car was ready for collection, so I asked them if they had solved the problem and was told there was no problem as apparently all veccy and signums with the 1.9 CDTi engine made this noise, and to prove it they took a nearly new Signum for a test drive on monday and they reckon it made a 'similar' noise.

So I asked them what had they been doing with my car for 3 day's and they said nothing as in their eyes there is nothing wrong with the car, this is despite the field engineer telling them otherwise.

So basically my car has been sat at my stealer for 3 days while they did absolutely nothing to it, so I went about telling them what I thought about their lack of service and support for customer faults, whereupon they did a u-turn and admitted that the reason they didn't apply the sonic ears is because they don't have any, and more importantly they didn't even know what they were!!!!

In other words, they would rather try and fob me off than risk the embarrasment of admitting that they didn't know what to do.

So now I have to wait until the stealer gets the field engineer back out as they have now admitted that they don't know what to do next.

Sorry for the long post guys 'n gals but I am absolutely boiling with rage and really needed an outlet.

When I read this, it reminds me of a local Peugeot dealership who come up to a large empty car park opposite our offices, very occasionally and spend about 10 mins with one guy driving the car around in circles and another guy sat ( yes, sat on the engine) with the bonnet up listening with what looks like a stethescope to the engine.

It really narks you when they don't know what they're on about & won't admit it.

To waste 3 days as well & then lie, inexcusable really.

A letter to vx is needed, as suggested by Gary.

It really gets to me when you find out that you are having the +'#~% taken out of you by some idiots who think that that everything they tell you you will accept. Well done for getting the truth out of them and you must right a letter to the VX and demand a response and some compensation for wasting your time.

Right, where did I put that Valium!

Not only letter to VX, but find the name of the dealer's Managing Director and write to him, too. VX will often try and fob you off with "dealers aren't part of our business"

Or you can just petrol bomb 'em.....

Been on the phone to vx customer services this morning, and they are fuming.

The reason being is they had to get involved the last time in getting the field engineer out as it turned out the dealer hadn't even booked one to come out!

So this time even after the rollocking they got last time, it looks like they really just cannot be bothered.

The manager of vx customer services uk has vowed to do something about this and has promised to get back to me soon.

I also asked them if I could swop this problem to another dealer but they said no, as they want to force this one to get their 4rse's in gear.

Hopefully I will get some action soon, and I will update this as it happens.
