veccys back at the dealers been there for 2and abit weeks started with small oil leak on a pipe then developed into wanting a alternator then belt and tensioer now they say it wants a timing belt and tensioner it was allright up until they repaired the oil leak which was only ment to be a pipe now it seems to be getting worse not bad for a car that has only done 34.000 i thought it would last longer than that may be it is a dealer repair issue may be i just need to ask questions

Normally thay are very good. Sounds like they have ****ed something up there whilst repairing the oil leak.

The 3.0 is usually a pretty solid and fairly trouble-free engine.

Oil leaks seem to be a recurring them now...
I noticed a very small oil leak on the under-engine tray, before it was finaly replaced
The sump gasket was replaced under warranty

Just out of interest, were either of the oil warning lights ever coming on?

hi the answer to that question is no the car was runing sweet until this oil leak appered i called out vx assist and they thought it was the sump gasket so i booked it in to be checked there first respoce was the level is ok so it must be ok they then found a pipe leaking they give it back an said it was ok to use on the way back from wales it got what i would call a turbo whine and the drive belt had been sprayed with oil so i took it back to dealer for repair when i collected it it still had the whine and a harsh rumble on revs at about 1000 revs and above i brought it whe it was a year old and had done 17-18 k it now has done 34800 and is well maintained it gets wat ever it needs i just think the dealer may have done somethink wrong it just started with a oil leak

I noticed that leaking on mine a few months ago
    It was VERY slight
I booked the car in and the VX dealership phoned to say they couldn't find the leak, so I asked them to get it on a ramp and by the time they had done so I would be at the dealership
    Arrived, and waited...

Once on the ramp I pointed to the oil that was on the edge of the under-engine tray
They clearly hadn't removed the tray!
On doing so, the small leak was apparent
The sump gasaket was replaced under warranty

However, a few weeks ago the oil warning light came on in the revs display, but none of the other warning lights came on!
I have checked for other leaks cannot find any

As far as I can work out, there are three oil warning lights
    1
    Driver Info Centre
    "Check Oil Level"
    2
    Drivers Rev Display
"Oil can" -> Check oil level
    3
    Oil pressure light

so if you only had #2 there must be a difference between all three, anyone know?
