How hot does your 1.9CDTi runin the cold weather?

Just wondering if my thermostat has stuck open. It is struggling to get up to 80 degrees and has been sitting a lot less on the real cold days we have had lately. Cannot get the heater to blast out realy hot air like my other halfs Tigra. I know that petrol cars run lot hotter and I really only have noticed it since driving the Tigra. I had a thermostat issue on on my old Vectra C 1.8SXi which is a common fault on the X1.8XE engine. Sold it before I changed the thermostat. Just wondered if there was a similiar issue with the 1.9CDTi but I have never seen any posts relating to it (unless someone proves me wrong )

After about 5 miles mine goes upto about 85c then settles at 80c

But the heater gets warm after about 1 mile

mine runs cold most of the time, heaters blow very hot tho, then again i would rather it run nice and cool than too hot....if i have the heaters on then the needel goes back to the bottom

Same here, and a good 5+ miles before the gauge even moves. Also:

Seems its normal. Think I am getting spoilt by the little Tigra blasting out hot air!

Correct! Its like a little sauna when you are driving but without the nakedness
