    Default Limits of remaps

During my attempts at remapping, I found out something interesting. The lookup tables in the ECU don't cover the whole of the rev range. They only go up to about 3500 or 4000 rpm, after that, the ECU extrapolates. So a tuning box would give better adjustment above said rpms.

i suppose they keep the tables short as they don't expect a standard engine to spend long over those rpm's..the way the power is delivered up to 4000 is all the normal drivers really need.

My cars is due in for another tweak on Friday, I'm determined to get the remap alone to over 200bhp (without smoking that is). Also making the pedal response less aggressive (feels like the response from a tuning box at the moment, 50% travel = max acceleration). Go a few other things to play with too but on the whole the difference will probably not be very noticeable to the driver. She's a bit of a ****** in icy conditions, I can see the traction control light getting replaced the excessive use.

Well I'm going down for the whole after noon tomorrow and what comes out of that will probably be the final job. They can do anyones car right now and give different maps for different requirements, i.e. fuel efficient with increased punch or outrageously mental like mine.

Tomorrow I'll tweak the last few ponies and pounds out of her and call it a done thing. I've also reduced boost pressure back down slightly so it's very liberal on the extra boost now. I'll bang up some final figures afterwards and I'll ask them outright, how much for anyone who wants it!
