I was thinking the same mate, I don't know weather it's just the new car that's crap on fuel or if it's the cold weather but I seem to have dropped 4-5mpg on average. (currently showing as 40.9 on the trip but worked out at 38.1)

I tell you what i have noticed, that first thing in the morning when i start it, the range plummets by as much as 30miles during the first 2-3 miles, until the car is up to somewhere close to running temperature, but it never recover's the lost range miles. This hapens every single day!

It did it in the summer, but nowhere as many miles on the range were lost compared to now.

I've noticed the same over the last few days. Never really noticed it before but it does seem to be a bit more thirsty in the cold weather.

The engine will use more diesel as the air is denser, but you shouldn't be able to notice the difference
However, if you are running the engine on idle more often to keep warm, then you might!

Same here.... I always get 42-44 mpg and 500+ miles out of a tank of fuel.

Not this time though... went down to 38.5 mpg !!! ... and I filled up at 380 miles with the computer telling me I had 30 miles left

I just put it down to the last two weeks being more city driving, cold starts and short journeys. But it is a noticeable difference in consumption !!

EDIT: Mind you.... its a beast in the cold air !!.... Once the engine has warmed up its wheelspinning in 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear !! (Bl00dy roads are lethal... dont forget to take care)

Also paid £66 to fill up yesterday

I'm going on a nice long journey today, so will see how it fairs on a 140 miles roundtrip...

Could makes sense that car will use more fuel in these conditions - denser air, so bit more fuel need to go in tengine too (if you use that extra power, that is).
Takes forever to warm up now, I definitely notice that. Maybe it's not reaching optimum temperature or something, my economy seems ok at the moment though.
It don't half shift when welly goes to metal with air temp around 0-2 mind
