    Cool Latest DPF update?

Had mine done accidentally at the dealers last week , and the car doesn't feel quite right since.

The remap I've got included suitable DPF regeneration parameters anyway - one of the main reasons I went for the Regal map over others. I don't know what the latest instructions are, and if they're suitable for the remap or not.

Does anyone know what the new parameters are?

EDIT: While I've been typing this, Regal have just replied to the email I sent them at least 5 minutes ago , the Vx update still isn't as good as theirs, and they've said I can take the car back for a FREE remap whenever suits.

    Customer service isn't dead

    Hey Paul,

When they say the VX regen strategy isn't as good as theirs, how do they know?? Do they mean with their mapping or in general.

I presume they mean in relation to the remap - otherwise surely Vx would be using the same parameters?

Have any of you tried putting a Mr Muscle sink and drain unblocker in the tank to help keep the thing from blocking up?

Tell you what, whay don't you write to Mr Vauxhall and suggest it? I should think a combination of that and a Bloo toilet block fitted in the cat would keep things squeaky clean....

Naah, just do what I do and shove the bog brush up there now and then. Seems to work a treat as I've never noticed my DPF regenerating, even after 11000 miles in 4 1/2 months!

I've only noticed mine twice in about 20k - both times since having the stainless exhaust fitted - because it sounds like a tractor for several miles. Never noticed it before, so wonder if the silencer (which I now don't have) masked it before?

If you've got inst consumption on the trip computer, at idle it goes from 0.1 gal/hr up to 0.7 gal/hr, and average mpg while its burning is around 20mpg, even on the motorway!

One theory is that the DPF works better after a remap, as you are generally running at a higher temp, and the DPF will regenerate itself easier ? Though I would have thought that after a map you would be generating more soot as well ...

Good to see great customer service from regal anyway ...
