    Default Which Oil

    The light has came on to tell me that the car needs oil but which one, also is it best to put the oil in when t to car is cold or warm

    I like to use at least a semi synthetic oil. I would say with oil, you pay for what you get.
    The oil will need to be warm if you are changing it and replacing the filter as it reduces the viscosity and runs out better.
    If your just topping up what is already in there, then it doesnt really matter if its warm or cold.

    We use 5w 30 fully sunthetic oil in all Vectra C's at work.

    I have some castrol gtx magnatec 10W-40 for all modern engines (synthetic ) would this be ok?

    I wouldn't recommend mixing oils IMO.
