    Default Tuning for 150 CDTi

Seen the irmscher tuning that boosts power to around 184 Hp, however at over £500 its way too expensive - any recommendations for something cheaper that gives an increase in power and economay through the same way as the irmscher device?

I have heard stories about a fabled tuning box called the caterman, there may be one or two threads on here relating to this mythical beast.

Your options vary from a "Caterman box" at around £60 on ebay (named after the member here who first tried them) through to a similar but more sophisticated device from the likes of DTUK or Diagnostix UK which go from £200 upwards. These all work by misleading the ECU into pumping more fuel into the engine and therefore raising the power. You'd be looking at 185-200 hp.

However.... You've got a Signum and they have DPFs (diesel particulate filters) fitted to help clean up the emissions. DPFs have been known to be b*gg*red by tuning boxes. Doesn't always happen but it is possible...

The alternative you have is getting your ecu remapped. These up the fuel pressure, adjust the turbo and charge the flux capacitor compared to just tipping in more fuel with the tuning box. Unfortunately remaps tend to cost £400 upwards and give you in the region of 185hp. They're generally safe with DPFs though so you pays your money...
