Xbox chat!!

Has anyone esle having prob's wit Xbox live chat tonight?? I can't get mine working I can hear my mate but he can't hear me

all the setting seem ok any idea's

I'm sending you invites now - but you're not responding.

First thing to do to verify things is do a Network test. Go to the dashboard>System blade>Network settings>Test Xbox Live connection and see if it passes them all. Let me know what it says for the NAT setting. If it says either Strict or Moderate then that could be the problem. You need to add some settings to your router to make it Open.

when I go in to private chat page the little icon for the speaker is orange i've not seen that before?

Right, just trying again as I noticed I was showing as Strict. Realised that the IP address of the Xbox on the router had changed, so I had to reflect that in the settings I made on the router - as you chose which device (by IP address) you want to open the specific ports for.

Right, this time I could you see you accept the invite which I didn't before, but I can't hear you. Could you hear me? I also have the orange icon, whatever that signifies?

Aha! Success! That would have been due to me being Strict initially, which I resolved. As per our convo, I bet the mates you were having problems with would probably show up a Strict NAT setting if they did the Network test. I'll get the link I mentioned and the ports you have to open up if anyone else has this problem.
