    Default PC World-pants

Finally decided to get a wireless router for my new laptop. I looked on the PC World website and saw the netgear D834GT for £64, £30 less than the store price.
However, it stated that the unit had to be picked up from the store. I printed it off then the site kept crashing. I decided to go to the store with the print. They didn't want to know. "You've got to order it online and then come and pick it up".
I pointed out how ludicrous this was, but they were adamant.

I came home, went through the process, only to find it didn't give me the option of picking it up from my local store. Apparently this is because the computer shows less than five units available. (The shelves were full).
So, I'm now in the position of wanting to buy the product, it's in stock, but computers won't let me and men unwilling to help.

    You couldn't make it up!

Retail outlets just dont seem to care these days. I would love to make a film which shows the PC World Advert all smiley helpful people, followed by hidden camera real life bad attitude. The same would apply to everywhere, all happy helpful folk on adverts - tesco's, mcdonalds etc etc - then the real life version. I reckon I could make a fortune.... but no one would air it becuase they'd never get any advertising from the named and shamed!

Have you had a word with Alex - he can get good prices on that kind of thing and his customer service would be second to none

PC world, Dixons, Curry's their all pants!

Had issues with all of them but the most recent was Dixons...

Went into Dixons the other day to buy a portable DVD player for a xmas present. There was a special on £99.99. Excellent I thought, even plays mp3's as it says on the sales ticket. I looked at the box and it mentioned nothng about mp3's so I asked the sales guy. He says, "Yes it plays mp3's no problem!", I say are you sure its not a mistake as the box says nothing about it? "No", he says, "it does play mp3's". Ok I thought, gimme one of those. He then starts his drivel; "I would highly recommend the insurance sir", I replied "no", "well if you dont it will just break!" he said, lolol I cant believe how low these guy's go to sell an insurance with the product, he went on for like 10 mins. JUST GIVE ME THE ****** PLAYER!

Buy's it and being the type not to believe a word a salesperson says I take it out the box and check its playability with MP3's, guess what... yes you guessed it, doesnt play mp3's!!! Took it straight back for a refund fuming! The guy couldn't have give a toss all he wanted was to sell a product to get his commission and fill me with **** to sell a naff insurance policy! I will never shop at dixons again, In my experience they are all useless!

I had a problem similar to MLC once too however they agreed to sell me the product at the web stated price if I took AGAIN! insurance out. Knowing that I have 14 days to cancel this I took it out and prompty cancelled it the next day .
