Trip Report! Melbourne OZ

Thought I would share a few pics from a flight I had around Melbourne last week and a trip up north to Penfield today.

I was lucky enough to go up in a friends aircraft and had one and a half hours flying up and down the coast of the bay before doing a circuit of the CBD (Central Business District - ie town centre)

Today i went again up to a small fly in at a countrly airfield - the whole day reminded me of the one vectra c meet I managed before coming over here. BBQ -chat - admire other people's aircraft!

Great friendly atmosphere!

First of all last weeks trip (weather not very clear, but better than the smokey day today!)

1 - Mordiallic - about 20 mins from where we live
2 - Point Napean - the entry to Port Phillip Bay
3 - Ocean side of above
4 - Rye Pier and snorklers!
5 - CBD with fantastic Spencer St rail station roof in the foreground!

Today's trip
9 - Our house - almost in the middle, slightly to the left - its the bigger one in a group of four (with a massive house behind!!) we have four houses on our plot - next to us on the left the plot has 5 houses and next to us on the right the plot has one house on it!!! There are some huge houses round here!
10 - Looking from the bay over St Kilda beach then Albert park, then the CBD
11 - err put the wrong pic here but cant seem to delete it - a Leicestershire Built Auster at the airfield (not what I went up in)

It only cost £600 to ship a Car to Oz, I got a quote 2 years ago for it... See if we can get a Group buy!

They are some breathtaking pictures though..

Thanks for reminding me what I'm missing, one day I'll get there, probably be too old to go surfing etc, but hey, there will still be funny and friendly *thats my experience of Aussies* ppl to live with, and sun and space, anyone got a gun, I think I want to shoot myself and hope for a re-birth over there.
