Gutted...but not...

Went to buy a Vectra yesterday, luckily on some whim decided to chack the length of the Vectra against my driveway. Oops, driveway is too short.

So to console myself I bought a Mk5 Astra Sporthatch with the 1.9-150 engine, has half leather seats, automatic everything, metallic paint (no more fading!), 17" rims, etc, etc.

Picking it up Thursday, pictures to follow.

I was going to, but the Mk4 had a few issues that would need addressed before MOT early January, and to be honest that Mk5 was pretty much the ideal spec (even down to colour) so I thought, sod it.

Still would have loved a Vectra, but it'd mean parking it in the street, and around here the wee ****ers would have it wrecked.

yeah a friend of mine lived in belfast for 3years and his car got loads of wee scrapes from sitting on the street. Thinking of a new astra next year myself maybe a 888 or sri in white

Bonus situation - just got the insurance changed, it's going to be cheaper than the old Astra to insure despite being 3 groups higher and nearly 3 times the value. Wierd stuff.

Now picking the new car up on Wednesday as well. Like a pig in the brown smelly stuff at the moment.

I come over loads every year to NI and last time we where over we went to Harry Ramsdens in Belfast and came out the back of place to see two gangs of kids luanching bricks, bottles etc etc at each other. It was a case of floor the ****er and lets get out of here!

i had a astra sport about 6 years ago and had to park it in belfast when doing the door in clubs and ended up buying a scraper because everynight it had a new scratch so get her parked out of the way.
