    Default Speedo Jerks

1.9 CDTI 150 2005 (PRE-FACELIFT). Whenever I go any distance at 90mph-plus, the speedo needle stops moving smoothly and moves in jerks of about 5 mph - usually when slowing down but sometimes when speeding up. So on decellerating,it'll be reading 100mph and then drop suddenly to 95-ish, hold that for a few seconds then drop to 90-ish and so on until I get down to about 55-60mph when it reverts to normal, so its hard to demonstrate to the dealer.I reckon it's linked to the cruise, which can be altered in 2.5 mph segments by using the buttons, but is it a fault or what? The warranty runs out March 08.

Its the dealers diagnostic tool which connects to the cars ECU's. Interrogates them for error codes, allows programming and also actuation tests (tests things like central locking, range of movement of rev counter, etc etc)
