    Default CRD2 Problems

Chaps, not sure whether this should be in here or under problems?

Bought the CRD2 for 3ltr v6 cdti siggy on a 53 plate from a very helpful gent on here. Fitted it weds and done about 200 miles or so but on the way home the engine died, management light came on and travelled the last 40 miles of my commute in limp mode. Its set on -1 as I have been gradually increasing it as I have read it is advised.
It was a little 'lumpy' driving it home but sort of cleared when the revs were up.

    Any ideas?

Also if I can get this resolved then would appreciate an understanding of the jumper settings!

    Thanks

    SB

I've been running mine for quite some time now on the -3 setting on my CRD box.The car does quite a lot of urban work, but neither I nor my Wife hang about on the open road. The V6 seems particularly sensitive to excess emissions and also high and low fuel pressure. The ECU doesn't like to be mucked around with, which is why I've left mine on -3.

Being a CRD box it only has a single map.But as with all digital boxes the map can be altered or completely replaced.I sent the box off to dragonperformance and they downloaded a much better map onto the box than the original Powerklick map. They described it as their "most popular" map.

You can send your box to them and they will replace one or all the maps for a small fee.

I have had no problems with this map on my car and I find that there is no noticeable advantage in running with the box above the minimum setting.I would suggest that you use the least powerful map on the lowest voltage setting and see what happens.
