First off i needed some new tyres on the car late last week so i made a phone call to a friend who got me some Bridgestone Potenza's SP-03's 18" for £110 each fitted.
Now I know the has been a big debate on here about the road noise of VX fitted potenzas so i was abit wairy on whether to fit them or not. Got home and searched the web for some info on the tyres and they are currently getting fitted to the new porsche and the new m3 and they had good rateings.
So i went ahead and had them fitted; road noise has been reduced a little however the performace of the tyre is second to none. Coming back from Kendal in the lakes a guy in front in his 57 plate 320d m sport began to drive keenley down the back roads. So i stayed with him and it was lashing it down and mud on the roads and the new tyres never failed me once.
They where absolutely amazeing; for 20 minutes we toe pegged it down some nice roads and the tyres never maid me feel like i had a bum hole like a wind sock once!
I would highly recommend them and for the price even better.
Today the beast needed a second service(pre-booked) so I went to my regular VX dealer in Southport for the same. After about half an hour they came out and told me the brake pads on thr front where down to 15% and the rear they couldnt measure in other words no pads
Yesterday I had done London-Kent-Portsmouth-West Midlands to Liverpool 450mile run on next to no breaks.
Anyway being the great dealer they are they noted the car was under Network Q warranty and replaced the pads and fluid FOC saving the mushy £172.
Great result, the car has had its service, new pads all round and the lastest dpf and ecu software uploaded.
Oh and it is getting fully supa-gaurded tomorrow morning through a friend for £75 another saving of £225
A Happy Mushy.
