Default Why no white on MY08 XP??????????

    Hi all,

Wanted to order a Estate SRi XP in white, specced it all up as pre MY08 and now my budget has come through (company car) I can place the order, but had a look at the website and the MY08 XP Nav II which its now called can't be specced in white??????????????????? WHY?????????

On the website you can pick and SRi in white and then add the XP kit plus 19's so can you get the VXR kit in white or what?

    Really pee'd off if not.

    Anyone know?

    Dave

If you wait until the new year before ordering, Vauxhall 'may' be more willing to do a special build as they are always keen to do help out to get more new registrations in the 1st quarter. Apparently all manufacturers are keen to have the best 1st quarter.

You could order a normal SRi Nav in white then specify the VXR style pack one and spec 19" wheels.

The only thing you will lose out on is the following by not having the XP2 :-

    VXR Style Steering wheel
    VXR Style Gear Knob
    Front air dam

Plus informing insurance of the changes as it's not a standard model.

    Whats the front air dam?

No it is standard as you can factory order it.

I was thinking of SRi in white, with Plus Pack (CDC 40 and 19's) and the XP kit.

Can you do this in white?

Even with factory order you still have to tell the insurance company, I had a nightmare getting the new car insured because it was not "standard", insurance companies are petty robbing barstewards

Why would need to inform the insurance?

If you order an SRi with the styling pack one and 19" wheels, or the SRi XP2 with factory 19" wheels, they are not classed as modified.

All options fitted in the factory, not a dealer are not classed as modified.

You will not be charged any extra premium for factory fitted options, if you are then the insurance is ripping you off.

I had no issues insuring the Astra, it is an SRi XP and the UK insurance database recognise the model.

When I had my old SRi CDTi, the 04 reg version, it had 18" alloys, leather sat nav and so on, as it was factory built the extra's are covered as standard.

Some insurance companies will try it on but don't take it, EVERYTHING fitted in the factory as an option does not have to be declared, your chassis number details the build spec so you can easily argue the fact.

I've not had any problems with my vectra insurance with all the extras i added to the car.. even told them about the VXR bumper i fitted which was an "option extra" aswell and they just added them to my insurance schedule....

I reckon the estate SRI NAV XP would look very nice in White..

It does have to be declared if it is not standard to the car, otherwise I am away to order a 1.8 sri with a vxr engine, seats, suspension etc etc .... If your car is modified, be it at a factory or in your garage you must tell your insurer or you could be in deep sh!t !!!
