Default Going into the stealers tomorrow....

..to have my front foglight replaced.
It's been misted up for ages and eventually I went into the dealers and told them.

After making sure the lens wasn't cracked!? They have 'agreed' to replace it under warranty (good of them!)

I got a call today to say the part is in, so I'm off to have it done tomorrow. I'm going to wait whilst they do it, so I'll see what sort of service I get.

I will mention the hanbrake failing the other day whilst I'm there and see how much waffle I get!!

Is it offside on a pre-face? They all do it, common fault. The dealers normally put them on for 20 mins and if the mist clears then its no fault found, good eh?

I'm a victim of that too. My nearside "fisheye" fog has been misted up since I went through a flood in Wrexham last March

I decided it wasn't worth changing because the new light will do the same thing eventually, unless they have changed the design on the replacement lights ?

Well, got in to Inchcape Vauxhall in Exeter at 11:00 as arranged, and my car was taken straight in. I also mentioned the problem that I had with handbrake failing and was told they would 'look at it'.

My front nearside foglamp was pretty much U/S, it had quite a lot of water in it, and I haven't been through deep water etc.

Anyhow I was told the job would be an hour, so I waited.
I sat in the nice comfy chairs watching VX racing on a big flat screen TV, drinking (decent) free coffee & eating Black Jacks that were on the table...Forgot how nice they were.

52 minuted later the car was done, foglamp replaced.
They do it from underneath on the ramp and don't need to remove the bumper!
I was told that the handbrake had been checked, and as far as they could tell it was fine. I got the distinct impression that they (the garage) would quite like VX to find a fix for this.... He didnt say anything specific but it was just his manner. Almost 'We know theres a problem but what can we do' sort of attitude.
I think I'll fire an email off to VX customer services ref the hanbrake failing anyhow, if nothing else it adds another car to the list.

I have to say I was very happy with the service, I wasn't kept waiting longer than I had been told and there was no quibble at all over the dodgy lamp.

OK it was a warranty job and I didnt pay but I got a good service, and at the end of the day...thats what we want!

You should also fire one off to Which? and Watchdog too - add to their lists.

Good to hear you got the fog light sorted under warranty though.
