    Default Tyres... again.

my fronts, 215/50 17's are down to about 2mm but with winter coming i think i'll be replacing them. Where was the cheapest place people have found? i know theres been lots of talk on these but was it conclusive?

Also, would it be worth swapping the 2 fronts for 225/45 17's to get more choice?

not too bothered about brand chris, i'd probably stick with the factory NCT's, but just wondered if people had found anwhere selling the 215/50's for a reasonable price?

Don't think you're going to see a 215/50/17 NCT 5 for less than around £120.

Are your rears getting low as well? If so, would be perfect time to change profiles. I'm not sure the implications of having 225/45/17 on one axle and 215/50/17 on the other - even if the wider ones were on the rear.

That's what I put on when I went to 225/45/18 - cracking tyre. Very happy with it. Not as sticky as maybe some others, but it's going to last a good bit longer.

I could not get NCTs as there was a three month back order list. Shopped around and the only ones available within 24 hours were the new Pirelli P Zero Nero. Very pleased with them so far but they are not cheap! I do not think they will last as long as NCTs as the grip is excellent, as they are softer compound.

We've got a TipTop in Ashington Andy. Get a price off the one at your end, then I'll get a quote off the one up here and see how they compare. BTW, PM me about your springs (dates etc)
