Default Dog broke heater knob :(

Hi all, my dog jumped in the front of the car today, just as I started to brake, he fell forward with some force onto the console.

Tonight I was out in the car, getting a bit hot, decided to turn the heater to cool........still quite hot.......opened the window a bit.....still hot, must be something wrong woth me. Happily not, but my heater is now always on hot. The knob will turn to cool, and back to hot, but the temp stays hot. My mutt must have bust it. If he still had his nads i'd chop them off!!

Whats happened and can I take off the console to have a look? or am I doomed to be a sweaty mutha for the rest of my life.

    Help plz

    Matt

You'll have to take out your radio (and possibly the cage) and have a look at the back of the controls (unless anyone knows an easier way?)

I do feel like shooting him, dont have much luck with cars. Someone drove into me, then drove off in ASDA car park recently as well. Got a nice scrape and dent on the front wing. My old car, a Saxo, someone stole the bonnet, the lights, the windscreen wipers, most of the front end of the car. They even ripped open the door to pop the bonnett so they didn't damage what they wanted. See You En T's.

Anyways, so the plan is to gently lever the panel out. I'll try it tom, cheers for the replies.

Bad news, i've taken it all apart and all the "mechanical" parts are working exactly as they should be. All spining and turning all the relevant bits. The circuit board looks ok as well. Alll the wires are in place and connected. Complicated little thing just for heating.

Any ideas? got really wet tonight with the windows down. And that aint a joke.
