Default M6 Toll road - fees going up yet again

    http://www.m6toll.co.uk/pressdetail.asp?id=85

Drive up the M6toll today and was aghast to see the fees going up yet again.

This is the result of an incompetent government not being able to sign a simple contract that has an element of price control. M6 toll can charge whatever they like.

At least the rip off money isn't going into Government coffers, but beware, this is the future of road pricing.........

We all have a choice but they know that Birmingham M6 is still clogged up with HGV's who won't pay the charge and car drivers are an easy target - reps on expenses etc.........

Its still cheaper than when it first opened though!

I dont know many Haulage companies that will allow their driver's to use the Toll Road, i believe more put of principle than anything else. I have on occasion paid for it out of my own pocket on a Friday night when heading for home, but not been able to claim it back.

I used it on Sunday but only because the M6 was at a standstill, didn't use it on the way back though, went cross country instead

    Hmmm.

Pay a bit more, or sit around Birmingham for ages.

Suddenly it's not very expensive, is it?

Its not, but when you're in a car, there are more alternative's that are free. I would not pay it in a car, not a chance!

    I will / do / have / will again / no brainer.

Life's too short to sit on your arris around brum, waiting for the muppets in front to get their act together and get a wiggle on.

It's a cracking bit of road. For a while, it felt like I was on a french toll road.

Anyway, the Police caught me, breathalised me and told me to continue my journey on the correct side of the road....

I fully understand why people do use it, and in a Truck i have no problem occasionally dipping into my own pocket and using it...

for everyone who uses it don't complain when every motorway in the country is a toll road just like it
I'd rather sit in traffic than pay the money ...life may be to short at the mo ....but what about the time when you have to pay the toll and still be stuck in traffic ..no brainer

I've used it when I've needed to get to Manc. It's pretty good, but the company has paid the toll not me.
