1.5BAR is what I think it should be, but I'm sure 1.6 is fine

1.6bar = 22.5psi so I think that's about right. As Big Sig said, the diesels do run higher boost than petrols - although mine is running 1.4 bar!

On a high pressure turbo like the integrale, Mitsi, Scooby etc will be boosting about 1.4 max I do know of some boosting higher.. The Vectra Petrol turbos are a low pressure system hence low boost figures.

Diesels if fitted with a inter cooler are a high pressure system.

    Don't you just love boost.....

As said, that’s fine m8, mine (a DTi) can hold a steady 1.4-1.5 bar at full tilt, but it does peak momentarily at up to 2.0 bar !!!

Is that Gauge or Absolute pressure ??

Anyway, no point in petrols boosting more, not going to do anything. But higher pressure in diesels is good, as more air mass = higher fuelling = more power. yippeee. Limited by peak cylinder pressure and pistons, and a capable fuel system.
