    Default courtesy car confusion

my vec went into the bodyshop on monday and we got a car from entrerprise for the duration of the repair, i specificaly stated to them it needed to be vectra size and a manual, low and behold we got an 07 passat estate auto 2.0 tdi, no good as swmbo refuses to drive any auto and i did specify a manual, had to take it as no other car's in that group avv, will call you 9 am and swap it tomorrow for you sir.......................

well never got a call this morning so i called them at 10.05 and they said yes sir we were just about to call you for your swap, i jumped in the passat and drove to there office, on the way i noticed the mpg......23.2 mpg glad it was going back..............

got there and all they had was a focus diesel , well cheesed of now as when was a focus the size of a vectra...............

anyway got in the focus and it will do, drives nice and has a good sony stereo system in it, had a play with it and set the steering to sport's mode for a bit more feeling, it's a 57 plate 1.8 tdci duratorque 115 bhp, (with only 700 miles on the clock) titanium model and it is quite nice overall, dont worry i will not be getting one and hopefully will be getting the vec back thursday at the latest, hope so as i have some shiny new bit's and pieces to fit........

please excuse the mpg pic camera playing up for some reason

Think yerself lucky, I had a 3 cyl corsa for 4 days last week and I had to do a 250 mile round trip in it up and down the m6! it would slow down going up hill.

Would have kept the VW though

I had a corsa from the dealer a while back, it didn't say the engine size on the back but I knew it was a bit strange because it was doin 4 - 5 k RPM to move along the same as my 1.8 Vectra LOL When I got to work I opened the bonnet OMG it was a 3 cyl lawn mower engine

Surely it's more economical to have a normal 4 cyl working much much less than that was ! was great fun though.

Must be cos it's the auto version, my bro has an 07 GT sport manual, it goes like stink and does over 50 MPG in 6th on the mway and the mid 40's around town.
