well yesterday i had a cum bag scally of a lad on a push bike steal my
own top spec personal tom tom 700 from the cab of the truck,it happened in
stockport the sk5 6** area and think its called reddish,the central locking on the
truck worked but the drivers side door didnt lock but the alarm went off and soon
after i looked out the back and seen this scum bag jump on his bike and pedal like hell
,luckily for him as if i`d caught up with him then i`d of kicked him off his bike and he would
of met the steel toe cap of me boot to his face,he did drop the head unit mounting port on
the floor and left the cable in the cab,we were told about the risk in leaving it in the cab but
this wasnt noticeable from the outside as it was hidden behind me tool box but must of tried
his look and follow the cable down and he won, hopefuly i`ll get it replaced by comet as it wasnt
my fault,also that the truck we were in has now gone for repair for the door to be fixed,bit late i
must say considering its been reported many of times about the door not locking properly

I hate these sort of people why can,t they leave things alone. I would have thought that comet should replace the stolen TomTom as it was their resposibility to give you a "secure" verhcal, and and you did notify them of the faulty door lock. Their insurance would no doubt pay up, but they might give you one off their shelf.

That's a real pain, and a bit weird. Why? while I'm reading this, the guy who sits next to me is on the phone to the insurance company, reporting his tomTom stolen from his car outside his house.

i hope they replace it and with the same spec,won`t be accepting the
basic model that they use nooooooo way,the door locking has been faulty
for a few weeks now but comet say its the lease company as they didnt
have the parts in stock and were on order also the truck should of been
off the road

the replacement model of wot i had is now the 720 so i will expecting
that 1

Andy, did you fill out Defect report's, as without them there is no written proof of the door not locking, and companies like Comet will use that as their Get Out clause.

Soory to hear of it getting stolen mate, i would be right hacked off if mine got nicked too!

yes m8 we have to do a vehicle check sheet that we have to fill in every
morning and the same fault is on the forms going back few weeks and also
comet are aware of the faulty door and they agree in wots happened as its
the fleet company is to blame as they shud of took the truck off the road
till fixed so think i have a good chance in getting a replacement.

Sorry to hear about your tomtom m8 you may want to check with comets insurance company as my ins company does sat nav cover free of charge now. Also make sure you report it to the police and get a crime number for the ins company.
