    Default Exhaust Gases Indicator ?

this light came on today when I started up as normal but it aint going out ! tried switching it on and off again but its remaining on .
could this be a multitude of probs or can it be pinpointed without goin to the stealers to have it diagnosed for one arm and one leg!!
i.e. most likely causes??? EGR valve ? any ideas lads?

I`m affraid the best way is to have a read on the fault codes mate...I think you can have an independent garage to check them for you, might be cheaper than a dealer....

You're meaning the emissions light? If so, it could be a multitude of reasons. All it's indicating is that the sensors are picking up readings that are out of range - it could be the lamda sensor playing up, or a multitude of other possible reasons. You'll really need to get the car read to see what codes are stored.

If the light is steady then it's not so bad, but if it's flashing then you need to really stop driving and get it looked at as you could kill your cat.
