    Default It's failed me again

The Signum broke down with the missus and the baby in it last night and left her stranded.
I went out to tow it to a safe spot with a friend.
The car had all electrical functions working absolutely fine but would not turn over at all and had the steering wheel with an exclamation mark showing on the digital display.
Having searched the forum I can find plenty of people who had a warning light come on but none who had the car actually die whilst driving it.
Was a bl00dy dangerous occurence as she was going around a corner and obviously lost brakes as well as steering, fortunately she wasn't going very fast.
I'm off to the car in an hour or so to see if it will start after being left overnight (doubt it) but will probably end up calling Green Flag out to be recovered to my local VX dealer.
Looks like I'll be seeing how good my third party warranty is!

I've had the steering wheel one a few times in my old 2.0DTi, dealer never found it, I can state its not nice when it happens!
It always seemed to be when taking roundabouts when it happened to me. Always wondered if it was a battery problem?

    Well, guess what?
It didn't start so I had to be recovered to a garage.
I noticed whilst I was waiting for the recovery truck that the fuel gauge didn't move at all with the ignition on so I guess it may be total CIM failure. Interestingly when I popped the bonnet for the "customary poke around in the furtive hope of finding something" I noticed a very high pitched whine coming from the front of the engine. Unfortunately they can't look at the car until Wednesday and I need it to get to the airport 4am Thursday morning for the family holiday.
Looks like this is going to be a close call!!

You will find this will keep happening and it will soon go all together. This happend to me for a few months, i then had to replace the CIM which cost £380 from memory and all is fine now.

Fingers crossed for you. I'll report what the damage is when I hear back from the garage.
