Default Brake Pad Tool Advice !!

Evening all, need to change the Front & rear Pads and came across this Brake Piston Cube from Sealey. Just wondering if any of have one of these and if there suitable for the Veccy C all in costs about £11.00 quid...

If this will do can't go wrong at that price !!

    Site states below

Warning: Not for use with impact type ratchets.

    * Suitable for vehicles with discs all round and retracts parking brake piston prior to installation of new pads.
    * 5 Possible pin configurations fit US and European applications.
    * Model No. VS039

I'm trying to get my head around how it would work - given that you need to compress the caliper from both sides to wind it in.

No Idea Duncan, I was under the impression that you would find the Suitable pin side, place it against the Piston and use the Ratchet to Screw it home ?? unsure what you mean by having to compress the Caliper from both sides to wind it in....

I take it this may not be suitable for the job then ???

My concern was that the Cube may be too big to fit between the Piston and Caliper! now I have something else to think about

Ah thanks John, saved me a bit of typing. I was basically going to say that it wouldn't let you push the piston in at the same time as turning.

    Here's my rewind tool...

As you can see, the black plate sits on the face of the caliper to then allow you to exert the pressure by turning the threaded screw.

Also, I don't think that cube would even fit properly in the caliper.

Going to buy the lazer tool off e-bay......
As you said right tool for the Job,

    However

If the Cube fits o.k surely it would be better than using a Snipe nose pliers or a home made tool as some have done, after all does it really require a lot of pressure to wind the Piston in ???

Ignore the above !!! just seen Duncan's reply !that it wouldn't let you push the piston in at the same time as turning.
! many thanks Duncan this answers all my Questions........

No probs. Also, in reply to one of your questions above, it's not a case of it (the piston) needing a lot of pressure but slow even pressure - something that can be easily controlled with the right wind-in tool.
