squeal

Just dropped the nipper of at his karate class, the car was stationary, engine running, with Drive engaged but foot hard on the brakes, soon as he opened the door to get out, the engine squealed as loud as hell for about 15 seconds, sounded like a fan belt on an old 80s car

is there a fan belt on the 3.0 tdi Signum?

hasnt done it on the way to and from shopping just

also im getting a clonk on the front end (both sides according to the missus) when going over speed humps, not everytime though, and going very slowly on the carpark so its not speed that is causing it to clonk

any ideas??

I'd say the aux belt too, although the interior light won't cause it. More like all the lights and heaters etc. The clunk will most probably be the anti roll bar linksor bushes. All cheap fixes

Cheers guys, ill get it booked in for a service as soon as they can fit it in, and get the cam belt changed too

they can check it all out for me, i dont get the luxury of seeing the car in daylight

at leats the company i work for gives me £4200 a year to keep my car on the road

Yours is the 3.0CDTi right? Let me know how much the cam belt is as I need to get mine done in the next 6 months or so

ill find out this week if possible, wont be a main dealer job, these guys i use are amazing and dont mess you about

Had the same squeal from my V6 CDTI last year at about 19K miles. Dealer diagnosed excessive play in one of the belt pulleys, and replaced it under warranty. Haven't got a record of exact part, unfortunately. Symptoms were squeal on starting engine in wet weather from cold, disappeared as it warmed up. Hasn't recurred since pulley replaced.
