Question Mud Flaps! why arent they standard?

........my sills are filthy two days after washing, and its persistantly raining out there..also lots of little black flecks which wont come off with a sponge, looks like tar?..need to find a better way than napalm to remove them...I need to invest in some mud flaps. Anyone any ideas?

Hmm they would help, but personally they wouldn't be asthetically pleasing on my car

So, say 50k cars a year. Price of mudflaps to make is probably about £5. That's a £250,000 saved in a year.

I personally don't like them either, but I have them on so I can find the door handles after a week of winter commuting on the motorway.

I did read on another site some time back, that because of the drag factor, not only do you lose mpg but a small amount of bhp too!
These figures are very, very small but do affect them.

Don't care really, especially with winter round the corner. I'd rather have a clean car and use a bit more juice.

Hope to put a set of the flappy ones on tomorrow if i can find a complete set in my garage. Last time i looked all i could find were 4 offside ones! Just have to keep turning left if that's the case!

Snowman, you got your ears on?
