    Default Fumes in the Cabin

Have experienced fumes/smells in the cabin of my vec for a while now and a colleague commented on it last week when in the car so decided to get it looked at.

It was ok at speed, but got quite strong when sat in traffic or stopped with the engine running.

Anyway local VX dealer has diagnosed injector seals need replacing so they have ordered them in at cost of £90 ( which my warrany company are covering )

Anyone know if this is a commmon problem and why it happens?

Yes matey it is a common problem I'm afraid. I'm not sure why it happens, but my suspisions are 'inferior parts'.

Glad you're getting it sorted at no cost to you though.

    Default Fumes

    Well the plot Thickens

Had the injector seals replaced last week - as soon as I got back in the car I knew it was still not correct so have spoken to Vauxhall Customer services about the issue.

They have logged my query, and have suggested that I get a second opinion from another vauxhall dealer as to what the problem is.

Sooooo, have been to another dealer this morning and the net result is......faulty injector seals

The mechanic took me into the workshop and asked me to "smell" around the injectors to see if it was the same smell - it is ! He confirmed that they need replacing.

I explained that I had just had them done last week and he was quite baffled.

Time to get it back into the orginal dealer accompanied by a letter to the dealer principal and the bill from this mornings diagnosis

    Not happy

Did they check the exhaust manifold matey? I had my manifold changed under warranty as I could smell fumes in the cabin.
