Default GSi rear end twitch... cured!

My GSi has had the legendary rear end skittishness since I bought it at the end of October 2006. I reported the problem to at least one dealership but I guess I didn't make my voice heard.

Anyway, my car needed its second MOT about six weeks ago and I reported the problem to my local VX dealership once again. This time, they sent a technician out in the car to check the fault and it was decided that they should replace the rear shock absorbers under warranty.

I finally had the work done last Thursday and the difference is "night and day!" The car is firmly planted, even in really bumpy bends. I now look for potholes to drive over, rather than avoiding them!

So a pair of bog standard shock absorbers has solved my GSi's rear end stability problem - for now, at least. I am in love with the car all over again!

I guess he means replaced under a Network Q type warranty, surely not manufactures warranty if so i want Vauxhall to cover the cost of mine. I'm so very close to getting them replaced, going over bumpy surfaces makes the rear feel so twitchy.

Yep. My rear shock absorbers were replaced under a Network Q warranty. I am very pleased I bought a used Vauxhall under Network Q. It went through its MOT without major drama too but those items that did need attending to were covered by the warranty, though.

Plus the GSi totally rocks too! I've never driven anything like it before or since! The rear end twitch was the only let down but that is sorted now.
