    Default Saab 9-3 150 Tid

Guys im picking my new Saab up on monday and wanting advice on teh tuning. Ive been in the diesel game since 93 and nothing as remained standard that ive driven, so why change a lifetime Now my previous car was mapped, but this being brand new and warranty for 3 yrs im not sure which way to go. What i dont want are ecu lights, clogged up egr valves, limps etc. Im thinking of tuning boxes, but not 100% sure - the price is good for me , but like i said i dont want issues as i dont have time start playing around with cars anymore and i need the car for business everyday. So guys please put my mind at rest which is the cheapest, reliable, non effecting power upgrade

but what about these caterman boxes i se around the forums - believe there fron a guy in germany. Many vauxhall fans out there for these. Just worried about the warranty issues with mapping. The Hirsh is a rip off so wouldnt buy that unless they offerd it for sub £500 - plus the map is very conservative

I've got a Saab too m8 (Aero 2.0T ) The box will fit so for £65 go and give it a try. Personally i would go for the Hirsch remap from Saab as it keeps your warranty intact should anything go wrong and it is on the insurers list of approved tuning mods.

Tuning Box - stay away, unless you want the odd Limp mode or worse.

Remap - dealers can detect this obviously.

IMO go for a BSR PPC unit matey. It's a remap in a box and they have a very good reputation on here. The mapping can be put back to standard before taking the car to the dealership so you don't invalidate your warranty.

Think its either BSR or Hirsch. Dealer told me that i would get constant offers from Hirsch for the remap, so I dont think I'll rush into this one. Been running a 180bhp Ibza diesel for past 3 years so i'll miss the power.

    BSR PPC.

    End of.

Seriously considering one for my Siggy at the moment, not playing about with boxes, too many coincidental issues for my liking.

    As Andrew says,

    BSR PPC.

Speak to Justin at Nordic Car.

I got one for my motor and I couldn't be more pleased with the level of customer care and I might add, there were issues with my ECU and the PPC when I got it. It was all sorted out quickly and I was kept informed at regular intervals.

    PS. Love the remap too

Sales are now through Steve @ LMF - in terms of traders on here - no longer directly with BSR/Nordic (but they are still the distributors).

And as above, the BSR stuff is top notch - been using it for almost three years now.
