Default Decent price for a service?

My 53/04 2.0T Sri Vectra is nearing a year since it's last service, and although is on 2 year service interval has done 18k since so figured I would get it done same time as the MOT.

The main dealer wants £270 for a 60k service.

From the sound of it, the service consists of mostly checking things and the only replacing was the oil and filter.

    Does this sound reasonable?

My network q warranty runs out in december, so it could be a good way of getting them to flag up any work that needs doing, but £270 for an oil and filter change and an inspection is a little hard to swallow!

(Anyone know a good independent service centre near Leeds? )

It sounds chuffing expensive to me!!, even if they were also replacing the air, pollen and fuel filter. Deffo get a good independent to give a price for the work and ask them to look out for anything that may need further attention.

You could even do it yourself as well and save even more money. If all it needs is an oil/filter change you could do that inside an hour. If it needed an air and pollen filter then that takes no time. Again, if it needs it, the fuel filter is the fiddly one as it's awkward to get off.

If you have Clubcard vouchers its about £40 for a full service at Nationwideautocentres or £50 for a major one with brake fluid change etc.

    Thanks for the repsonses!

I just spent a few mins ringing round a few more garages and found a main dealer centre who'll do it for £175 which seems more reasonable.

Still a lot, but I guess that's the premium you pay for the nice Vauxhall stamp in your service book!

It sure pays to shop about!
