Default Koni FSD & H&R Springs

Is it OK to mix dampers and springs from completely different manufacturers? The Bilstein/Eibach setup works fine together and wondered if this setup would work without trouble, obviously no one has tried it to my knowledge so a defenit answer is out of the question. Am I right in thinking that they should be fine as they're obviously made for the Vec. Any help appreciated as I'm rethinking my mods for the car.

    Cheers Mark.

    Noooooooo!!!

Coil Over's all the way for under £500..

In answer to your question, i had Bilstein's with Pi SPrings before the Coilover's and they worked fine..

Mark, interesting point you raise. As regards a bilstein eibach setup I had a Corsa SRi track day car with that set up years ago and it all seemed excellently matched. I don't thinks that Bilstein and Eibach work together officially, but it seems to me that the quality of the kit they both produce is so good that it works well together.

Personally I would be wary of matching up 'any old thing' (not that I class either H&R or Koni in that category) but Bigman I think is right to say that stuff that is matched together from the production line is likely to get a better result, especially if you shell out the extra for coil overs.

If I were you I would either go Koni or H&R as both companies offer matched sets of kit which is likely to work together in terms of stiffness, ride height, rebound etc.

PS I'm in the middle of writing a uni essay as I type, hope this post doesn't sound too pompous as a result

Coilovers would have been straight on if it wasn't a family car and I need it to be reasonably sensible if you know what I mean, thats why I was thinking about the FSD's as I've read they do work pretty well.

Mark, where in the world are you??

You are welcome to a drive in mine on Coil Over's to see how comfortable they are, they are pretty much as good a ride Bilstein/Eibach's, and you dont have to go as low as me, you can lower them as much or as litle as you like...

Your tempting me Ben and at the price they are available they're the front runner against other setups. How would you rate them against the SRi suspension at absorbing bumps?

By the way I'm down in Salisbury so not too far from you.

They are a lot Harsher than the standard SRi set up, no two ways about it, but not as bad as you might think...

    My Opinion's
