I thiink you have to wait the 7 days before being aloud to complain about it. As for the second chance offer is not a bad plan BUT you are liable for negative feedback from the original winner if he wants to get funny about it and Ebay are not interested at all, so be carefull.

I think you've got to wait a few more days. From my experience on e-bay I have occasionally had to wait a few days longer to get paid after stating payment time limits but it's always come through in the end. There probably just being a bit cheeky and waiting for pay day!

I'm rapidly losing faith in ebay - I've recently found it much less hassle to put anything I want to get rid of in the local paper instead.

Ebay don't make it enough hassle for the people who don't pay or don't ship.

only had 1 problem with ebay over the 5 years ive used it and that was trying to get a buyer to pick his item up which he bought for 1p took over a month and in the end relisted it and got 20 quid for it and they picked it up next day.

I've had little problems too, guess i've just been lucky. I've got 880 100% feedback at the mo and have only had 2 non payers.

It's like a lot of things, you tend to hear the horror stories. For every bad ebay transation there are literally thousands of good ones that go through without any probs.

the first time I used Ebay was to sell take that tickets. We reached a final amount of £360 and we were dead chuffed, with second place being £350 and third £340. We sent off the invoice and 5hrs later got a message from Ebay saying the winning bidders account had been hacked and the listing didnt stand!! I asked for details of the second place bidder but was told the lisiting had been deleted, but I was welcome to relist!

Eventually sold them for £205. I feel I should charge Ebay for £145, but I know its in the T&Cs so I wouldnt get anywhere. Leaves a sour taste tbh.

I've had a response from the buyer.

I have never heard of this but this is what his message said:

'I have e mailed ebay.my max price was £82.01 no higher, why has this price increased with me making no further bids'

Yet he was the winning bidder at £98.00
I have replied to him and also contacted ebay to see if they will confirm/deny what he is saying.

Oh well I'll have to wait and see what happens?

His max bid might have been £82.01, or so he thought, a common mistake made by a lot of bidders is to forget about the decimal point, so his highest bid could have well been £8201, but hes not going to admit to that is he....
