    Default Noisey Rear End

OK,had the car for a week now.Worried about the noise from the back of my car.Originally thought it was due to the uneven and low pressures. After inflating both to 33psi...still got the noise.Took it to my mate/mot tester and man who can when i cant! After checking the bearings he said both were fine BUT both rear brakes are dragging.
Any ideas? strip down and clean?New discs and pads?..

You can inspect the disc and pads.

If there is little brake pad left, then yes replace, 3-4mm would be low.

Is there a big lip on the edge of the disc? Are the discs scored, etc? If yes, then replace them, its not that an expensive do.

If you do the work yourself, the rear caliper cylinder requires a brake rewind tool to wind the cylinder back home. It must not be pushed in like the fronts can be.

if the brake's are binding ask your mate to have another look and see if he can sort it out for you, or if you brought the car from a dealer's ask them to sort it out

Just out of interest, manual states recommended pressure of 35psi all round on the 2.0T with 17" wheels.
