Oh bummer - guess you're Dad is in the doghouse then!!

Why can't refurbers fix it? Is the shadow chrome tint actually in the chrome itself? If so, can you not get it rechromed at a chroming place?

Its only painted silver at the surface. its painted grey/black on the inner sides

it'll be really complicated respray after its been refurbed, think it might work out cheaper to buy a new wheel

Ah I see. Are any of the grey/black bits actually damaged? Can't tell from the pic if the damage at the 10 o'clock postition extends inside. If it doesn't, couldn't they just mask off the dark bits? Even if it did (extend into the dark bits) there must be a place that will refurb that style of paintjob?

Don't know how much a wheel is, but a refurb (even if it is a pricier than normal one) is going to be a good bit cheaper than a new wheel?

I can get a new wheel for £140

none of the inner sides are damaged, its just surface scratches. My freind runs a car modding place and he can have wheel refurbed for £80, but he recommends buying the new wheel at £140

Right. I suppose for another £60 for a new wheel it means it will be perfect.
