    Default The new Vectra D

I read some nice things about the new Vectra D on a Swedish car magazine site:

The new Vectra OPC will deliver more than 300 bhp and accelaerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.5 sec. It will also have a new 4-wheel drive system. The IDS-system will be more advanced than the existing one. A new 2.9 litre V-6 diesel engine with 250 bhp. Should please the diesel crowd.

Wonder if the 4 wheel drive feature will make it?

I can see that being watered down to a boring front wheel drive system..

    Sorry.

If they are going to be realesing it with over 300Bhp then it will have to be 4x4 as I can't see it being Rwd and Fwd just can't use all the power to it's full potential.

I see what you mean but Vauxhall TBH are not exactly the best at keeping promisie and in fact the current VXR should be 4WD but they didn't bother because it would 'cost too much'.

And i say this because look at what Vauxhall have done to the current Vectra after the facelift - stripped every model of its goodies and left some, then jacked up the price.

I hope i'm wrong and the next generation Vectra/Insignia is 4WD or RWD at least but i remain pessimistic.

Any car over 220bhp should be at least RWD, but 4WD may be a real budget stretch and to top it up although love my Veccy, Vauxhall and 4WD, how advanced will it be if it does make an appearance? Will it be EVO10 advanced? Quattro Advanced? Equivalent of Subaru?

Bearing in mind I have no Idea what each has to over but bear with me - what I am saying is that will it be regarded by motoring journalists the same way as Audi's, EVO's and Subaru's are? Because are the only 4WD machines the Insignia VXR is upagainst as they are 300bhp+.

PS: Let me know if i'm rabling - feeling that I am
