    confused need advice!! number plate removal?

    hi,guys ...and gals!
    i have a new reversing camera and sensors to put on the sri estate,its one that goes where the number plate is ,but i need to take the number plate off, so does anyone know how to do this without breaking the number plate, its stuck on,as there is no bolts .
    any advice apeciated.thanks shane

    I would try and prise it gently from the centre if you can get something underneath an edge..If you try from the edges you run a greater risk of snapping it i'd have thought..

    Unless you get a hairdryer, heat the plate up, and hopefully will heat up whatever is holding it on behind it, and make it easier to remove..

    They are normally screwed on.. Someone has obviously stuck them on, to stop them being nicked. Done that with mine.

    I suggest that you pour some warm, soapy water down the back and prise them off with a plastic ruler.

    get kettle on lol

    pour hot water down the back and pull it off, should be held on with sticky pads

    If you have any fishing line or even some thread handy. wrap it around each hand and half about a 1 foot piece between your hands and put it around the plate and cut it off. It will come off real easy. You will not brake your plate like this.

    Exactly what anti theft plates are. Alledgley, once stuck on they cant be removed but as above I would try with heat & wire or just rip it off and buy a new one that you can screw on
