    Default Red LED Brake Light

    Hi Everyone,

This is my first post on this forum since I joined in September and I would just like to say how enjoyable it is.

    Now for the question...

What I want to do is remove the red LED brake light on the boot and replace it with the clear one?

Is it an easy mod to do? I've looked on Ebay for a clear LED brake light, but as yet I've not managed to find one.

Has anyone on here bought one from the Vauxhall dealers and if so, how much did it cost?

    Cheers,

    Paul

For the cost I have no clue...some of the members will answer that for you....if it`s easy I think it is....just a matter of taking off the existing one....couple of screws, unplug the electrical and put the clear one

hi get 6 bits of hard plastic and wedge it in the top and bottom of the light where the metal clips are until they push in then slowly remove
very hard to do without braking it
you can do it with 2 bits of plastic but harder

i tried ages to get mine out in one piece eventually i gave up and smashed the ****er out Hammer and screwdriver
The clips on mine were just to tight to budge it.

Replacing the new 1 was simple.
Connect up to a loom and push new clear brake light in place.

And its all done from outside,no removeable parts inside

Just to let you know, I've contacted my local Vauxhall dealers and I've been quoted £37.95 inc VAT for the 3rd brake light (clear type) so I'll call tomorrow for one then hopefully have fun this weekend trying to remove the light that's in at the moment.

I also received a pair of rear lights today (the ones with the clear indicator lense) so that's another job to do as well. Is it a straight enough forward job?

Thank's for listing the part number here on the forum, it's been a great help and thank's to everyone that replied to my thread.

    Regards,

    Paul

To replace the the rear lights is just a case of loosening 3 bolts from the inside and they will come off.
