Default How do you turn off the auto light switcher

Ok, the problem is - my vectra doesn't have four positions of the lights (headlights) switch - i mean [auto] [0] [1] [2] - my has only [0][1][2]
And now - when I'm turning engine on the lights are also turning on - I don't want it to happen. Anybody knows how to do that?
    Thanks.

Has it always done this, or only recently? If only recently, then it could indicate that the plug on the back of the switch has become loose. e.g. if you disconnect the plug you can't turn the lights on with the dial, but what happens is that the car then kicks in with a safety feature and turns on the headlights with the ignition. I'm assuming it does that so that if the headlight switch module ever goes faulty, it won't leave you without any headlights.

Tech2 will be needed; it looks as if yours has been programmed to do so("tagesfahrlicht" - obligatory in some countries)

Duncan may have been spot on actually!
Mine was just doing the same (lights coming on regardless of switch setting upon switching ignition on) after I removed the lower dash and had the light switches out.
As I've only had the car a week, and it was night, I didn't know if had always done that.
Removed the headlight switch panel again; reinserted the wiring plug, and bingo. all working again.
    Cheers
    Ian in Essex...
