Default The Rise Of The Old Gits!!

I've been getting pretty fed up with my job lately. We were taken over a year or so ago, and the new owners are just ninja accountants, with no interest in the people who make up the company, so I decided to start looking around.
As a 48-year-old IT worker, I wasn't really expecting to be able to get another job, but I've been surprised. Since I posted my CV around a few sites, I've been really surprised at the amount of responses I've got -I've had at least one call or email a day, and I now have about 3 real prospects lined up. My field of expertise is not exactly mainstream (I'm a backup and storage "expert"), but there seems to be a surprising number of companies who are interested in employing more mature staff.
I've mentioned this to a couple of agencies, who reckon that more and more companies are now looking towards older candidiates since legislation was brought in to prevent age descrimination. They were reluctant at first, but they found that us wrinklies have loads of experience and a much better work ethic, plus the younger candidates just don't have the standard of education.
So, if you're over 40, don't despair. Your country needs you!

Your experience alone should get you a job I would have thought, as that no what most companies want nowadays.
