    Default PC help needed

My internet connection at home (2.2 Mbps with Tesco.net) seems to be running a little slow. Opening up the details for the connection reveals data being transmitted from my computer, slowly but surely.

How do I list which programs are accessing the internet, and therefore find out what is causing this transfer, even when Internet explorer is not open and no updates are being downloaded. It is a slow but steady upload, and happens even when nothing is being downloaded to my PC at all.
See these screen dumps, notice time difference.

    Thanks in advance

Use the image uploader Ste, it's located next to 'members list' on the top toolbar.

Open up task manager mate and look at the Processes or Applications and see what is running.

You can access Task Manager by the 'Ctrl, Alt, Del' keys

Ste............can i jump in with my problem?..........if not just delete it!

Sometimes when I open things a bar appears under the tool bar which says: -

Your security settings do not allow Web sites to use ActiveX controls installed on your computer. This page may not display correctly. Click here for options....

The above is what it says word for word any ideas?

    Thanks
    Bryan

Yes I have looked at task manager, but that doesn't tell me what programs are actually accessing the internet. It has now uploaded 67 MEGABYTES and counting..

Obviously I need to stop any unwanted activity to ensure the fastest response for what I want to do, not my PC.

Ok. Once in Task Manager click on Processes. Sort the processes by what is using the most resorces by clicking CPU colomn at the top. This will give you what is most active on your PC as a percentage.

Tell me what's most active and I'll see if I can help you.

I wonder if you've got some sort of virus/trojan that is uploading data? You got full anti-virus/security stuff installed?
