Default The problem with a very low car!!

    Well,

As i expected i was always gonna have problems with Speed Ramps etc with my car, however, not in the way that reared its head today!!

I work out of Electrolux in Milton Keynes, and of any of you have ever been there you will know there is too rather large speed ramps just as you go thru the main gate... The rubber lip on the bumper has just rubbed the ramp each day so far, i take it gently so i can live with that...

    Until Yesterday...

As i left site yesterday, i went over the last ramp and there was a metal on metal scraping noise! Rather perturbed by it, i went round to a mates house, got the front end lifted a bit to lok underneath, and all was in order, nothing showed signs of scrapeage.

Well today i went over the same ramp, very very carefully and as it scraped i stopped and gout out to look where it was coming from....

The underside of the Nearside Sill is hitting the ramp everytime i go over it!!!

Now, do i raise the car up on the platform's, or do i leave it like it is and take extreme care over these particular speed ramps in future. I am going to try going across them tomorrow at 45 degrees to the ramp to see if it makes a difference or not..

Incidentally, this is the only place i have had a problem with the car grounding out, everywhere else has been ok as long as i exercise extreme caution...

Thats what an old mate of mine done, he would go over the bumps at an angle and it would clear them.........just, and this was over some mahoosive bumps as well the car was all kitted up. I reckon you'll be fine at an angle.
