I'd understand if it was the V6 CDTi - as it's a bit of a job - but they won't touch a 1.9?! Also surprised the dealers have never done one!

I wouldn't leave it for that length of time if it was me! I'd be looking to change around 60K. Damn site cheaper than if a belt goes. Vx have a history of giving long belt change intervals, then reducing them as they found that lots were going snap a good bit before their recommended interval.

My local dealer have never done a V6CDTi one, they priced it the same as the 3.2v6 Petrol!

The belt going on the 1.9 150 is not as bad as you think. If a cam belt fails on the 1.9 150, the rockers are designed to break, rather than the valves getting bent.

Marshall's have done a few now on cars with 50,000 + miles, but it is not the belt that fails, it is the water pump, they have had a couple where the water pump cease's up without notice and strips the belt.

I did air my concerns, but he told me they have done maybe 3 for this reason, which is nothing compared to how many 1.9 150's are out there.

I think the rocker breaking is a much better design than valves being bent, it is only a case of removing the rocker cover and replacing accordingly.
