    Default Headlight/Door warning buzzer

    Howdie,

Got a small problem with the buzzer which sounds when the doors or lights are open/on when the keys out of the ignition. Everything works when the passenger door is opened, but nothing when the the drivers door is opened.

Not being technical minded, not too sure where to start!! Any ideas?

What are you saying? The buzzer goes if you've got the lights on and open the driver's door? If so, that's normal - warns you that you've got the lights on when you leave the car so you don't leave them on.

Sounds like somehow the passenger and drivers door open signal has swapped sides? No idea how!

Ah right, I wasn't entirely clear what he meant.

No, it doesn't. If it's doing what you say then it's certain;y not right.

Have you had any modules replaced on the car recently for any reason? I wonder if they haven't been programmed from LHD mode (often the default) and it now thinks the passenger door is the driver's door.

Its a bit of a funny one this. When i test drove it, the buzzer was working on the drivers door the way it should. It was then "Network Q'd". The only other think i know they did to it was reprogram the spare key with thier plug in device (tech2 from what i have read) which got the key working.

If it worked correctly when i did the test, and now its swapped, is something they can do with their plug in box of tricks?

I wonder if it can be "adjusted" to either right or left hand drive motors?? Via the Tech 2 then.

Yep, sounds like a monkey with the tech 2 touched something he knew nothing about......

It sounds like they've somehow managed to alter the CIM module (module in the steering column that makes the pinging noise and integrates with the ignition switch - amongst other things) to make it think it's LHD.
